PHA began supporting street children in 2014. Since then, a number of these children have been reintegrated into their homes and others are regularly supported by paying their school fees, health insurance, and providing support to their families. PHA has been intentional about providing for the spiritual needs of these children in addition to their physical and educational needs and so every Sunday morning teachers from the PHM Sunday School meet with these children. They share the word of God with them, teach them how to pray and develop a relationship with God themselves.
Tuyizere Patrick’s mother abandoned him and hislittle sister; he is now 15 years old and part of thekids supported by PHA through the compassionMinistry. His passion is playing football, he alsodesires to be able to understand what they teachin class so he becomes a top student, but alsodreams a day he will be able to drive a big car likea Prado. He lives with his elderly grandmother who hecalls mother, one of his most happiest days iswhen Sister Peace (one of PHA Caregivers), celebrated her birthdaywith him and other kids supported by the ministry. “That was one of the happiest days of my life,she would have celebrated it with her familyalone, but she came and celebrated with us, shebrought us gifts and we also ate cake, I will neverforget that day” “My deepest desire is to grow up and have themeans to also do good things for others whocannot help themselves” Said Patrick.
